Kathrine Kuhl to join Everton on loan

Arsenal Women midfielder Kathrine Kuhl will join Everton on loan for the rest of the season, according to (reliable) Danish journalist Arnela Muminovic of DR Sporten.

Arseblog News reported earlier this month that Kuhl, who has only played six minutes in the WSL so far this season, would be available for loan this month and that Arsenal’s preference was for a WSL move.

Kuhl signed for the club from Nordsjaellend last January but has found her game time limited this year with Victoria Pelova and Kyra Cooney-Cross also joining the club in 2023.

Arnela reports that there is no purchase option in the loan and that supports our information that Arsenal view this as a developmental loan for a young player they think highly of. The move would reunite her with coach Brian Sorensen who gave her her debut as a 16-year-old in Denmark.

I suppose it’s the best move for her, but I will miss her. I hope Sorensen gives her a lot of responsibility because I am sure she will thrive on it.
Best of luck, KK! See you at the end of the season.

Understandable with Vicky and Kyra a bit further up the development ladder. I hope she can get some game time to make use of the loan and returns an even better player but more importantly fit and healthy. With the right mentoring she has a future with the Gunners from what I have seen but in the here and now it opens up another registration space for another signing!

Any idea on the timing of this? A loan seems like the right move at this point, but we’ve got two January cup games where she’d probably feature. Any chance if she could play in one or both before heading to Everton?

I suspect Everton wouldn’t be too keen on taking a player who was cup-tied.

I really like KK, who has shown great skills at times for Arsenal & let’s not forget, has been excelling for Denmark & playing 90 minutes every game for them.

Clearly this loan is well planned and will ensure she gets significant game time, and I too predict she will thrive on her new responsibility.

It’s also true that Kyra & Vicky are “a bit further up the development ladder.”

Looking forward to her return next season – she definitely has the ability & potential to become a Great Gunner.
