Three more Arsenal fixtures moved in March

Three more of Arsenal’s Premier League fixtures in March have been handed new kick-off times after being selected for broadcast in the UK.

Home clashes against Brentford and Chelsea at Emirates Stadium will remain on their original dates, Saturday 9 March and Saturday 16 March respectively, however, the former has been handed a 5.30pm start by Sky Sports while the latter will be in TNT Sports’ 12.30pm slot.

Unsurprisingly, the match with Manchester City has been selected by Sky Sports for the 4.30pm Super Sunday slot on 31 March.

It’s worth noting that if Chelsea beat Aston Villa in their FA Cup fourth round replay and also come through a fifth round clash against the winners of Leeds and Plymouth, our league game on the 16 March will have to be postponed.

That would leave Mikel Arteta and his players without an Arsenal fixture for nearly three weeks with an Interlull also rearing its ugly head between Porto’s visit to the Emirates on 12th March and our trip to the Etihad.

I don’t know why they bother giving out match dates in advance. I stupidly planned work not to coincide with Saturday fixtures.

Let’s be honest, on current showings, we probably won’t have to worry about the Chelsea game being postponed

Fezec

With any luck they’ll be insolvent by then.

Nah, I want to prolong the sweetness. Slowly drift into mid table obscurity, flirt with relegation for a couple years, and then on down the Championship pecking order.

Haha yea the amount of shirt we took from them during the abramivic era, they deserve a slow painful demise. just shows they can’t do anything without financial doping.

In fairness, they’re still top of the table for financial doping in their squad spending ( I wont say building as that’s not really accurate is it?).They’re just super shite at it.

The Sheffield game is the one that’s really annoyed me. It’s become a no go game for me as it’d mean taking an afternoon off work to get there followed by a return home for about 2am, which at my age pretty much writes off the next day too. I’d already bought my tickets for the Saturday. On the plus side, I was driving so no other out of pocket expenses like hotels, flights or rail travel… While I’m moaning – the Newcastle 8pm Saturday night kick off is ridiculous too. Not that they deserve my sympathy, but any Geordies… Read more »

Surely a full day and a Saturday night out in London is a pretty sweet deal for the Geordies?

Given we play City on 31st, you would assume the home game with Luton on Tues 2nd will probably be moved to the Weds? Also, we really need Villa to beat Chelsea in that replay. If we beat Porto, the fixtures in April already look pretty congested, we could conceivably be playing midweek/weekend every week from 31st March to the end of the season.

That’s what I’m assuming will happen as well… I’m flying over from the US for the game, and will definitely be making travel plans assuming that Luton could be on April 3.

Plenty to do on a Tuesday night in London if the match moves!

Jason

Is there much point in drawing up a fixture list in June only for it to look completely different by the end of the season?
